Biography for Lori Khamala:Lori Khamala at settlement of Mt. Olive Boycott

Lori Fernald Khamala, a native of North Carolina, graduated from Quaker-rooted Guilford College in 1999 studying Spanish and Community Building as a Vehicle for Social Change.  She spent two semesters abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico.   She is currently the North Carolina organizer for the National Farm Worker Ministry, a national interfaith organization whose mission is to mobilize the religious community to support farm workers organizing for justice, empowerment and equality.  The Ministry supports the farmworker called boycott on  Taco Bell, and recently celebrated the end of the Mt. Olive Boycott with the Farm Labor Organizing Committee.

NFWM is also working on the AgJobs bill, a bill that would provide theopportunity for farmworkers to gain legal residency, and is accompanying theUFW and PCUN on several campaigns in California and Oregon
