The right to work rhetoric is heating up here
in Oklahoma, mostly on the
side of the pro-right to work. The Daily Oklahoman has something about
it
nearly every day on its editorial page, and the pro-rtw for less
committees
have been running full page ads.
I haven't been watching TV, so I don't know if they're running
television ads. They've raised $3 million, Wal-Mart sent
$100,000, a lot of money has moved in from out of state energy
companies.
The anti-right to work committee has $500,000.
The Daily Oklahoman is saying just the most awful and terrible things,
depicting hordes of zombie union workers from other states descending
on Oklahoma to break our will and spirit and keep us in chains to the
evil pro-abortion union bosses.
We're inviting everybody everywhere to join in a special novena
to
St. Joseph, September 17 - 25, for the defeat of this proposal (the
25th
is the day of the referendum election).
Below are the special St. Joseph's novena prayers. Please feel free to
pass this anouncement along to others. Please join your prayers
and works to ours during this time of intercesory prayer.
The novena of prayer and good works begins September 17th,
and
concludes September 25. Besides praying the prayers, we invite
people
to do works of justice, peace, and mercy during this period.
Daily novena prayer:
Let thy mercy, O Lord, be upon us according as we hope in thee.
Remember, St. Joseph, most humble and loving protector of all workers,
that
no one ever had recourse to your protection or asked your aid without
obtaining
relief. Confiding therefore in your goodness, we come before you and
pray
to you.
Graciously receive our petition for the defeat of state question 695,
for
the protection of all workers, the advancement of justice, and the
victory
of Christ's reign over all the earth. Holy Joseph, help the helpless,
comfort
the dying, bring justice to the poor, and peace to all nations.
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our shield against
the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly
pray, and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God
thrust
into hell Satan and all the evil spirits which prowl about the world
seeking
the ruin of souls.
O Christ God, Lord of Glory, who gave us joy and blessing from your
Mother's
womb, have mercy on us and save us
